The life of City Harvest Ministries

                   CITY HARVEST MINISTRIES
….. on the move with God.

Background

The ministry started in Durban central business centre in 5 April 2005. Our first service was in a hotel for two years, as a satellite church of our main church at KwaMashu. At the beginning of 2008 the ministry was given a status of being an independent assembly.

In 2008 we moved out of the hotel to a bigger and more independent space. It was here that God confirmed his Harvest mission for us “to reach out communities with Good News”

·        Our first Outreach was in nearby township Chesterville, and new converts were transported to our main church in town on Sundays.

In 2009 whilst having our January fasting and prayer – God directed us to our next Outreach Ministry.

·        In June 2009, we started a revival at Ntuzuma, for three weeks, it was indeed a great move. Souls were saved and grounded in the Word of God. As we were transporting them to our main church on Sundays, another new convert (who is now in the Lord) asked that we use her yard for services instead of transporting people to town.

In March 2010 we pinched our one pole tent (50 people seater) at Ms Gavu’s yard and we never looked back. From there we rolled up our sleeves and cleaned a place that looked like a dumping site as our place of worship. Indeed “the steps of a good man are ordered by God, He delights in his ways(Psalms 37:23) As soon as our place of worship was ready at Ntuzuma, the landlord in Durban gave us unending situations that caused us to move out and make Ntuzuma our new home, our place of worship

Here are some of the pictures where the young people were in the cleaning of that site.

World Cup in South Africa was the event that brought us closer to our community. Fridays – Youth Services improved in quality and quantity!!!
Young people were relevant to the community and more souls were saved through the Soccer Fridays Community Outreach held.
Even our Heritage Day in September was blended with World Cup vibe!!!!!

2011 YEAR OF ELEVATION

January 2011

Our year starts with 21 Days of Fasting and Prayer, from (10th – 30th) where all members of the church comes together to dedicate all activities planned for the year to the Lord. “Make me know Your ways, O Jehovah; teach me Your paths” (Psalms 25:4) As we pray together we seek God’s guidance through the year in our ministries, families, careers, and our wellness (physically, spiritually, socially and financially)

“Recognising Gods spiritual Wave” (Isaiah 51:15) is a City Harvest Theme

During the prayers, the vision of City Harvest being a family that is grounded on God and His harvest was entrenched to members.  The following was shared during these days:

·         God was addressing us  in the language of consolation, and directs us to remember the founder of the nation, and assures us that he is able also to deliver us (Verses 1-3)
·         God calls upon his people to hearken to him, with the assurance that he would extend the true religion even to the Gentile world, and that his salvation should be more permanent than were the heavens (Verses 4-6)
·         God assures us that we have no reason to despond on account of the number and power of our enemies. However mighty they were, yet they should be consumed as the moth eats up a garment, and as the worm consumes wool (Verses 7-8)
·         God, who had divided the sea, was our protector. He had given us a solemn promise, and he had covered his people with the shadow of his hand, and he would defend them (Verses 1-16)
City Harvest needed to recognise the Spiritual Movement of God to be effective.
·         30 January our last day of Fasting and Prayer we prayed for God’s favour and wisdom for all part-time and fulltime students

February 2011

Faithfulness Evangelize Adore Share and Teach (FEAST) Harvest Network
One of the main challenges of the saint nowadays is fellowship that edifies God and a forum that encourage one another to be faithful in their local assemblies – strategies to win souls together – adoring what God has done or is doing – share all situations and relevant information – teach each other  for the Great Commission.
We launched this network of interdenominational movement on Fridays with young people at City Harvest Ntuzuma. Four assemblies come together: KwaMashu; Reservoir Hills; Durban and Inanda. It was such a divine deliverance and breakthrough move of God.

From Ntuzuma (Feb 11)we moved to Reservior Hills (Feb 25) for another FEAST
